ABUNDANCE IN THE MIDST OF SCARCITY

Gen 26: 12-14
God’s covenant over His own He does not break (Psa 89: 34) as long as the recipient or the covenantee keeps to the terms of the covenant. (Jer 11: 2 NIV) here the scripture says “blessed is he who obeys the covenant terms of God’s covenant”; it also means cursed is anyone who does not obey the terms. Every covenant has 3 integral elements;

        I.            The covenantor/ the initiator;

      II.            The covenantee(the recipient or the beneficiary);

   III.            The terms of the covenant (The do’s and don’ts);

Rules and regulations that guide each party in the common covenant; ignorance to the terms is not acceptable neither is it an excuse. Everyone must strive to first understand the terms and then walk in the terms in complete obedience so as to enjoy fully the blessing from the LORD.

God had an extended covenant to Isaac, extended from his father Abraham. When Abraham died he left possessions for the son (Isaac) which Ahimelec and his group strove against, unknown to them you cannot prevail against the covenant child as long as the child obeys the covenant terms. Isaac really died on Mount Morai (Abraham’s Perfect Intent), after this experience nothing was heard about Isaac in the scripture until his father died. His death (flesh) brought him directly into his father’s inheritance in God, his father’s covenant with God and every other thing that his father stood for before the LORD.

There was famine in the land of Gerar; livestocks and farm products were drying up, the land became desolate with no rain for a season in that same land. The same year, this covenant child (Isaac) planted in the same land and received a hundredfold harvest (Gen 26: 12). The question is this; did Isaac plant in the same land as others? Was Isaac’s seed exposed to the same climate like others? Was Isaac operating under different climate? The questions can continue like this without answers, for me Isaac was operating under a very different climate, even though they were all together in Gerar. The explanation of his own peculiar climate would be understood when we examine God’s principle of selective separation.

What is this principle? God singles out his own from amongst the crowd and limits his blessing within the geographic spheres of that individual. For example; remember when there was darkness in the land of Egypt before their exodus into Canaan, God selectively gave light to the portion in Egypt inhabited by the entire nation of Israel during the numerous plague He brought upon Egypt, the Jewish habitat then was referred to as Goshen a place of abundance of light in the midst of gross darkness that envelopes a whole nation. Similarly, while others in Gerar were experiencing drought Isaac was experiencing a continuous and consistent invisible rain in his habitat. He had invisible forces tending his garden for him, making sure that he is distinctly separated from others. This is the dynamics of God’s covenant.

What lessons are available for us contemporarily?

1)      That it doesn’t matter what you do, it doesn’t matter how many people are competing with you for the same thing, you are not them but you are different as long as you obey the terms of the covenant.

2)      When men are cast down, you will not be down with them and you will experience a lifting up.

3)      People may not for any reason like your guts, they will find faults in every good works that proceed from you, do not be weary in doing good God’s covenant over your life is speaking with a loud voice.

4)      Make sure you understand very well the terms of God’s covenant for your life; for you cannot obey easily if you don’t understand.

5)      Do not be afraid when starting a very small way, the hand of God upon you will lead you into super-abundance.

6)      God’s covenant goes beyond material things; it includes sound health, safety and preservation.

7)      Because of the hand of God upon you He has become your buckler, therefore, you cannot honour every invitation neither can you be found in every assembly.

 God bless you.

       I was just a teenager the First time I listened to him. He had been invited for a conference and I remember while he presented the message, I was pondering over every line uttered by this man. They hit me like:
 "Wow!" so much so that I thought, after the program I would personally thank him for being such a selfless tool for service! The Conference ended and I missed him because everyone just wanted time with him.
  Well, I just consoled myself that "Maybe next time."
    Years after, here we are getting to know more about him and his eighteen years in ministry thus far.

          From the Pastor's Desk ... THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE Psa 36: 9, John 1: 4, I John 1: 7, 8 Gods breath (Gen2:7) is what made man a living soul, it means the breath of God is his very life which he gave to us (man) that made us in his image and after his likeness . This same life is in the son (JESUS CHRIST) (I John 5:12) here the bible says “he that has the son, has life and he that has not the son has not life’’ having the son therefore guarantee life to every believer. Life in itself is the very essence of our existence as God’s elect. Life is what makes us his minister and what makes up the ministry he has given us .let us start by examining the following terms; Who is a minister? A minister is a channel or a medium through whom the life of Christ flows into others. From this definition, it means a minister must have life for him to give it out; for it is impossible to give what you don’t have. It is this life that the minist...
      From the Pastor's Desk ...(With Dr Alex Olugbami.) THE BLESSING OF THE DEEP (PART II) Emphasis: THE BLESSING OF THE WOMB AND THE BREAST Gen 49: 25, Isa 66: 8, 9 Our focus today will be on spiritual pregnancies, their real meaning and God’s subsequent provision. The call of God to His elect is a total package, it consists of all of God’s pleasures distinctly for an individual, in line with the volume of books written of that same individual(Psa 40: 7). The God that calleth is the same that provideth. The word provision can be broken down into two, which is ‘pro’ for the ‘vision’. The blessing of the deep is always for the propagation of the gospel of Christ Jesus. It is not for personal consumption as it has been erroneously taught. From the scripture above in (Gen 49: 25), Israel was pronouncing blessing on all his children and when it got to the turn of Joseph he mentioned the kind of blessing that is coming the way of Joseph, he said “it is the blessing...
        From the Pastor's Desk ... THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE(II) I John 1: 7, Psa 119: 130, Prov 20: 27 Today, we will be looking at the light that we receive from His life as discussed previously. This light is for us to walk with him, first, in fellowship then, by extension affecting the world around us. When we walk in the light of the LORD, He sheds a glory upon our path and giveth us understanding of His very person. It is impossible to fellowship with an unknown God. It simply means as we walk in His light we get to know Him each day, each moment better. In (II Cor4: 18) here the bible says “the path of the just is like a shining light that gets brighter each day unto a perfect day”. It means therefore, that the more we fellowship with Him the more light He sheds on our path, the brighter our path gets and the more of Him we know. What then is the contemporary source of this light? When we study the scripture in (Psa 119: 130) we discover...
