THE BLESSING OF THE DEEP (PART 1)

Gen 49: 25, Luke 5: 1-8, Psa 42: 7

The blessing of the deep will be discussed in two parts, the first part will be discussed today that talks about God’s blessing of the deep generally. In our next teaching we will be looking at specifics, the target of the blessing of the deep especially as it relates to God’s conception and consequent provision.

To be blessed of the LORD is without sorrow (Prov 10: 22) it is to work like an ant and eat like an elephant, it is to cease from labour and to enter into God’s rest. Jesus proclaimed during his earthly ministry (Matt 11: 28, 29) that all that are in labour and are heavy laden should come unto him and in him is rest. Paul also confirmed this in (Heb 4: 9, 10) it says that “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his”. The rest of Christ Jesus removes toiling that was placed upon the first Adam as a result of disobedience. Having the life of the Son in us therefore, makes us to enjoy in full the rest in Christ Jesus (Prov 23: 4) it says “Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom”.

The distinction between success (riches or wealth) that is acquired through hard work and the one that is bestowed on the saints through God’s grace and mercy is the blessing of the deep. Peter by his own strength toiled all night long in (Luke 5:5), please note Peter’s language before the master, he used the word ‘toiled’ as of the first Adam. The presence of the master with Peter and contemporarily in Peter is the access into the deep.

When Peter gave him his boat and after teaching to the multitude he told Peter WHERE to launch his net, there is a WHERE that only the master knows that takes us away from toiling and struggling in every spheres of life, domestic, ministry and even in relationships with other members of the body. When peter knew that it was the master that instructed him, he forgot his expertise as a trained fisherman.

One thing to learn from this submission is that wealth from the LORD does not come our way by might and power; it is always by His spirit. The creator of all living organisms in the ocean was standing before a trained fisherman, between the two of them who should know where the fishes are? The LORD Jesus, the creator of course knows and because He knows, He leads by illuminating the dark paths unto the deep so that the saints can easily access it. Insubordination to the will and the instruction of the head of the church will lead to serious toiling in all spheres of life.

The second thing I would like us to discuss today about the blessing of the deep is the experience that Peter had and what he quickly did. To every of God’s blessing there is a divine recipient waiting to receive either part, some or a stipulated fraction and sometimes all of God’s given blessing. The ability to hear him at this point is where the problem is, even when we hear because we are self-centered we will refuse to hearken to his instructions.

In the story one thing stands out and that is Peter’s ship was sinking, the nets were tearing because of the weight and volume of fishes in the deep, he had to beckon at his neighbours (contemporarily God’s divine recipients of His blessing). If Peter had not called them and given them their portions of this blessing, he will sink with the blessing. To inquire of the LORD anytime a blessing from him comes is a task that is almost impossible for most of us, we have not learnt lessons from the heroes of faith, Abraham waited for God for his blessing (Isaac) for hundred years when the blessing came from the LORD, the same God requested that the blessing becomes a sacrifice (Gen 22: 1, 2).

Behind the mind of God in releasing the blessing of the deep is that the receiver becomes A CHANNEL OF A PROGRESSIVE AND A CONSISTENT BLESSINGS TO OTHERS. If he withholds he shall become poorer but if he scatereth then he shall increase in God’s blessing (Prov 11: 24). He who is faithful in little, greater blessings shall be committed into his hands. Our next teaching will focus on the blessings of the womb and of the breast.

God bless you.

It's time to stop pointing accusing fingers..
It's time to look inwards!
As Apostles, you are given special Grace to rule from the spiritual realm which controls the physical.
You rule on your knees as you intercede for the nation....
You are not an apostle because you are well travelled, or because you control a large crowd or congregation, or by the size of the wealth you have acquired...

I was just a teenager the First time I listened to him. He had been invited for a conference and I remember while he presented the message, I was pondering over every line uttered by this man. They hit me like:
"Wow!" so much so that I thought, after the program I would personally thank him for being such a selfless tool for service! The Conference ended and I missed him because everyone just wanted time with him.
Well, I just consoled myself that "Maybe next time."
Years after, here we are getting to know more about him and his eighteen years in ministry thus far.

Now, since the Church is not a structure or ediface and we do understand  the Church to be us (The very elect of Christ who is the head of the church) it is also established that we are essentially created by God to reign and rule, just like we have been created in His own image.
Then, why the many controversies surrounding the Church and governance?

Why do the Church consider Politics as evil?

What is the place of the Church  in nation building?

What are the likely implications, if the Church remains passive in Nation building?

INTERNAL CONTENT.. with Dr. Alex Olugbami The Real 'YOU' is not what we see, it is invincible.  Your walk with God is not on the 'Outside', it's on the 'Inside'  God said: "David is a man after my heart._ because David had a heart to heart relationship with God. You may step out ahead of God in ministry and think you are ready but you are not.  If you are not made and you leave, you become half baked and you are prone to attack.  Be made, before you are sent forth._  We tend to be in a hurry when God speaks.  God, cannot be mocked.  It's not about the number of times you fall(because, in ministry, you must stumble to gather strength ), it's about learning from the experience to forge ahead. it's not the external sword that kills but the internal.  What goes on in your heart?: Were you given or it's from you?  For example, someone says: "Have you heard what she said about you?"         From The Pastor's Desk With Dr Alex Olugbami The Crucified Life (PART 1) Emphasis: Freedom from the TRUTH Text: Gal 2: 20, Matt 10: 39, John 8: 32 Christianity is not a religion neither is Christianity a way of life as it has been erroneously taught. Christianity, is the losing of an old life and the consequent acquiring of a new one. In other words the old life must be crucified with Christ, (Gal 2: 20) please note; not being crucified in Christ as we have also been taught. It is true that Christ has finished all and by faith we are seated in heavenly places in Him but the pathway to heavenly places is to be crucified with Him. This means the only way to glory is through the cross, a very unpopular message in our assemblies today. In this part of the teaching we will look at the five F’s that freedom brings after crucifixion with Christ. In (John 8: 32), Jesus said that Freedom cometh by knowledge of the truth, knowledge is not s...
UNDERSTANDING DIVINE INSTRUCTION II kings 4: 1-7, Prov 4: 20-23 The word understanding is poorly understood by most believers in the faith today; some often say that understanding is the same as knowledge or wisdom. However, understanding is beyond all these, Solomon said, “…get knowledge, get wisdom and above all get understanding”, here Solomon placed understanding above all. Why is it so?  Knowledge without right application (wisdom) is unfruitful, unprofitable and useless to the recipient but understanding brings always a brighter meaning to the other two (knowledge and wisdom). God has a language, so also has the enemy in (Dan 1: 3,4 ) the choicest of the children of Israel who were in captivity in Babylon under God’s divine purpose for them, they were selected to be taught the language of the Chaldeans(the Babylonians). When the very elect refuse to gain understanding of God’s language their effort becomes fruitless, understanding divine instruction, carrying out dil...
