THE POWER OF A SERVANT (Part II)

II Kings 5: 3, Isa 42: 8

The ministry of Judas was enhanced by the very nature of Christ; when Jesus was praying to the father in (John 17) He specifically said that He had kept all except the son of perdition (Judas) that the scriptures (written word) - the volume of books concerning Judas from eternity - may be fulfilled.

The pharisees had problem identifying who amongst them is the Christ because they all look alike, in them was no class distinction, there was no siren to distinguish Christ as the most anointed neither was there any earthly host to accompany him everywhere he went. Today, when you enter into any local assembly where God is supposedly worshipped no one needs to tell you who the pastor is or his wife, elders, and senior elders as the case may be. What a paradox? We are to live here on earth as our Master did but we have all forsaken his ways and had adopted a system of this world.

Simplicity is the source of divine power. An arrogant leader is devoid of God’s power, why? In (James 4:6) the bible says “God resist the proud (the arrogant) and gives grace only to the humble. If anyone desire God’s power then he must learn to acquire the heart of a servant, be simple in his conduct especially towards the flocks of God under his care. When a member of your assembly is denied of quick and prompt access to you, you cannot account for his/her soul, so you are therefore not his/her shepherd. If your members are afraid of you then you have lost them, there must be and unhindered access to a divine leader. These leaders have the exact nature of Christ and they would easily reproduce their kind through God’s grace upon him.

Many leaders today enjoy the accolades of being introduced before they minister on the altar, someone must tell the entire assembly about their CV, number of places they have ministered before, the number of countries they have travelled to, some even have the flags of all the countries they have been to in front of their place of worship. The question here is, who is being glorified, is it our pastor or God? The problem with sharing in God’s glory was the source of rebellion found in Lucifer in (Eze 28: 12-18) Lucifer was described as being filled with wisdom, beauty and power (an anointed Cherub that covereth) all these achievements got into his head and he rebelled against God, his reaction is found in (Isa 14:12-14) he said “he will ascend and be like the most high”. God decided afterwards because of His glory to use the foolish things of this world to confound he that is made full of wisdom (Lucifer), He then made man in His image and likeness from the dust of the ground, man then is the foolish thing that is meant to confound Lucifer. (I Cor 1:27) why did God choose the foolish thing? The reason is because God choose the foolish thing (man) to depend absolutely on God for everything unlike Lucifer who decided to share in God’s glory.

Every true leader therefore must come to this understanding that it is God in them that brings them recognition, fame and announcement but when the same God decides to leave them they become nobody again. As long as a true leader remains a servant, he will always look up to God for help and whenever God does anything he would never arrogate God’s glory to himself.

We see an interesting scripture in (Mark 11: 2-6), an ass had been tied where upon no one had sat before, Jesus told His disciples to go over and lose him (Why do we use “him” for an ass?) It is not an animal; it is allegorically me and you. We are that colt tied, ready for the Master’s use. Something interesting about this scripture again is where the ass was found. The bible says, “the ass was in a place where two roads met, tied there”. What is this place? (It’s the cross) a symbol of the end of self. This ass was enjoying the red carpet treatment, the shout, the hailing as long as the master was riding him. The moment the master highlighted from the ass, the ass became a forgotten person; this is exactly what happens to us when we decide to take God’s place.

May you not be abandoned, forgotten or replaced in your God given assignment. In Jesus name. Amen.

God bless you.

I was just a teenager the First time I listened to him. He had been invited for a conference and I remember while he presented the message, I was pondering over every line uttered by this man. They hit me like:
"Wow!" so much so that I thought, after the program I would personally thank him for being such a selfless tool for service! The Conference ended and I missed him because everyone just wanted time with him.
Well, I just consoled myself that "Maybe next time."
Years after, here we are getting to know more about him and his eighteen years in ministry thus far.

From the Pastor's Desk ... THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE Psa 36: 9, John 1: 4, I John 1: 7, 8 Gods breath (Gen2:7) is what made man a living soul, it means the breath of God is his very life which he gave to us (man) that made us in his image and after his likeness . This same life is in the son (JESUS CHRIST) (I John 5:12) here the bible says “he that has the son, has life and he that has not the son has not life’’ having the son therefore guarantee life to every believer. Life in itself is the very essence of our existence as God’s elect. Life is what makes us his minister and what makes up the ministry he has given us .let us start by examining the following terms; Who is a minister? A minister is a channel or a medium through whom the life of Christ flows into others. From this definition, it means a minister must have life for him to give it out; for it is impossible to give what you don’t have. It is this life that the minist...
From the Pastor's Desk ...(With Dr Alex Olugbami.) THE BLESSING OF THE DEEP (PART II) Emphasis: THE BLESSING OF THE WOMB AND THE BREAST Gen 49: 25, Isa 66: 8, 9 Our focus today will be on spiritual pregnancies, their real meaning and God’s subsequent provision. The call of God to His elect is a total package, it consists of all of God’s pleasures distinctly for an individual, in line with the volume of books written of that same individual(Psa 40: 7). The God that calleth is the same that provideth. The word provision can be broken down into two, which is ‘pro’ for the ‘vision’. The blessing of the deep is always for the propagation of the gospel of Christ Jesus. It is not for personal consumption as it has been erroneously taught. From the scripture above in (Gen 49: 25), Israel was pronouncing blessing on all his children and when it got to the turn of Joseph he mentioned the kind of blessing that is coming the way of Joseph, he said “it is the blessing...
From the Pastor's Desk ... THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE(II) I John 1: 7, Psa 119: 130, Prov 20: 27 Today, we will be looking at the light that we receive from His life as discussed previously. This light is for us to walk with him, first, in fellowship then, by extension affecting the world around us. When we walk in the light of the LORD, He sheds a glory upon our path and giveth us understanding of His very person. It is impossible to fellowship with an unknown God. It simply means as we walk in His light we get to know Him each day, each moment better. In (II Cor4: 18) here the bible says “the path of the just is like a shining light that gets brighter each day unto a perfect day”. It means therefore, that the more we fellowship with Him the more light He sheds on our path, the brighter our path gets and the more of Him we know. What then is the contemporary source of this light? When we study the scripture in (Psa 119: 130) we discover...
