THE ANATOMY OF GOD’S RICHES

Phil 4: 19, II Cor 4: 7, 8

The word anatomy refers to the bodily structure of a thing. In this context anatomy refers to the components, the context, the content and the constituents of God’s riches. The word riches are not synonymous to circular wealth as often erroneously taught by many. The riches of God are not and cannot be material wealth, they are not visible. They are in fact invisible but more potent than the physical material. Although, the riches of God is linked with physical wealth ultimately, for the reason of this write-up we will stick absolutely to the spiritual and speak less of the physical manifestation (III John: 2).

The riches of God are found embedded invisibly in a prospered soul of His saints. Paul the apostle prayed a prayer for the church in Philippi, the scripture that has become a common one, regrettably, used in our assemblies for taking offerings, it is even a common song that we take while taking offering without a full understanding of its weight. He said in (Phil 4: 19) that “his God will supply all their need (the church in Philippi) according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. The riches of God are in Christ Jesus, firstly, in glory. Secondly, the same glory he gaveth to the saints before ascending into heaven (John 17: 5). In the saints now, after, Christ’s ascension lieth the riches of God.

Two words that look similar must be distinguished while explaining riches. Let us look at this scripture, (II Cor 4: 7) “we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may not be of man but of God”. In this scripture above the word treasure is mentioned by Paul embedded in us God’s saints (earthen vessels). Treasure is unprocessed, useless, unrefined and a raw material only. Let us now see how God processes, refines His treasures in his saints, by examining the very next verse of the same scripture (II Cor 4: 8) “we are troubled on every side”. Every treasure must attract trouble as the catalyst or the fertilizer that is required to process the treasure. James said in (James 1: 3, 4) “that we should count it all joy, when we fall in diverse temptations”. Why must we be joyous in the midst of temptations? The reason for the joy is the end-product that follows the series of afflictions. In (Exodus 1: 12) the bible says “the more the children of Israel were afflicted by the Egyptians (their God-ordained tormentors) the more they grew and multiplied”, and their tormentors became angry. When you are a saint in whom God’s given treasure is being processed your enemies must be grieved because whatever they do to you is adding more to your spiritual capacity and not removing any as they would have loved it to be. God uses diverse temptations, trials, afflictions and distresses to enlarge us on the inside (Psa 4: 1) the more your soul prospers during this phase the more robust you become in your inner-man and the more you produce God’s given riches.

This equation below summarizes God’s riches, its source and its strength;

TREASURE + TROUBLE = RICHES

Riches therefore, from above is not found in men with enticing words of men’s wisdom, it is not found in a skillful preacher neither is it found in a very popular and charismatic orator. But, they are found in men who are regarded as fools, imbeciles, stupid, etc. Why?  Because it is only the latter set of people that can be fully processed or submit to God’s training.

Today, I say unto you rejoice and rejoice again when you fall into diverse temptations. For God’s test for you, with you and in you is to give you a testimony (Rev 12: 11). God bless you.

       I was just a teenager the First time I listened to him. He had been invited for a conference and I remember while he presented the message, I was pondering over every line uttered by this man. They hit me like:
 "Wow!" so much so that I thought, after the program I would personally thank him for being such a selfless tool for service! The Conference ended and I missed him because everyone just wanted time with him.
  Well, I just consoled myself that "Maybe next time."
    Years after, here we are getting to know more about him and his eighteen years in ministry thus far.

          From the Pastor's Desk ... THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE Psa 36: 9, John 1: 4, I John 1: 7, 8 Gods breath (Gen2:7) is what made man a living soul, it means the breath of God is his very life which he gave to us (man) that made us in his image and after his likeness . This same life is in the son (JESUS CHRIST) (I John 5:12) here the bible says “he that has the son, has life and he that has not the son has not life’’ having the son therefore guarantee life to every believer. Life in itself is the very essence of our existence as God’s elect. Life is what makes us his minister and what makes up the ministry he has given us .let us start by examining the following terms; Who is a minister? A minister is a channel or a medium through whom the life of Christ flows into others. From this definition, it means a minister must have life for him to give it out; for it is impossible to give what you don’t have. It is this life that the minist...
      From the Pastor's Desk ...(With Dr Alex Olugbami.) THE BLESSING OF THE DEEP (PART II) Emphasis: THE BLESSING OF THE WOMB AND THE BREAST Gen 49: 25, Isa 66: 8, 9 Our focus today will be on spiritual pregnancies, their real meaning and God’s subsequent provision. The call of God to His elect is a total package, it consists of all of God’s pleasures distinctly for an individual, in line with the volume of books written of that same individual(Psa 40: 7). The God that calleth is the same that provideth. The word provision can be broken down into two, which is ‘pro’ for the ‘vision’. The blessing of the deep is always for the propagation of the gospel of Christ Jesus. It is not for personal consumption as it has been erroneously taught. From the scripture above in (Gen 49: 25), Israel was pronouncing blessing on all his children and when it got to the turn of Joseph he mentioned the kind of blessing that is coming the way of Joseph, he said “it is the blessing...
        From the Pastor's Desk ... THE FOUNTAIN OF LIFE(II) I John 1: 7, Psa 119: 130, Prov 20: 27 Today, we will be looking at the light that we receive from His life as discussed previously. This light is for us to walk with him, first, in fellowship then, by extension affecting the world around us. When we walk in the light of the LORD, He sheds a glory upon our path and giveth us understanding of His very person. It is impossible to fellowship with an unknown God. It simply means as we walk in His light we get to know Him each day, each moment better. In (II Cor4: 18) here the bible says “the path of the just is like a shining light that gets brighter each day unto a perfect day”. It means therefore, that the more we fellowship with Him the more light He sheds on our path, the brighter our path gets and the more of Him we know. What then is the contemporary source of this light? When we study the scripture in (Psa 119: 130) we discover...
